I find the tūī to be an incredibly elegant bird, with an amazing array of colours, shimmering greens, blues, and purples, that often only reveal themselves in soft, overcast light. In this image, I aimed to capture that hidden beauty, setting the tūī’s iridescent tones against the delicate pinks of a cherry blossom tree. It’s a moment where light, colour, and nature all come together in harmony.
